JaMi & BB - Hanoi Trip 2009, Day 5

Day5, 30/07/09, Last day. Early morning flight 9.20am. We left hotel about 6.30am. We paid USD25 one way to airport. With no bf cos too early...luckily we bought some roti with us.

Before we left, let u have an idea on how my hotel look like. I stayed in level 2, means 1st floor... facing the road side. I can hear honk everynite until early in the morning! There is a pub opposite where i can enjoyed free Karaoke in vietnamese... but still i can dozzed off easily....we were too tired.

The journey from hotel to airport is less than 45min.

Upon reaching, we chk in our luggage. Inform the counter we have a pregnant lady travelling on board. Fill up some forms and woala... we settled. FYI, u need to inform the counter if u r pregnant, just fill up some forms and present doctor's letter. In Malaysia also same. Pls be reminded!

So, we find a place to sit and have our roti bf...then only chk in gate. We were all masked up!

There is nothing much interest me la... dun feel like buying duty free. So, we sat there and wait for the boarding.

Too early morning, we take a nap... then board our plane AK871 back to KL. AA now operating with number seat. We need to sit seperately cos it's computer generate one. Under group booking one should be fine... can at least get nearer together.

Sumore for the Queing, there are at least 3 lanes, seperated into numbers... sigh....so mafan and waste time. So so good in marketing ah...i see!
We reach LCCT around 1.30pm, the pilot was speeding all the way, we were ahead schedule. Ee Jin wait for us right infront of McD, we go back Melaka straight...had our lunch at Nilai. Luckily i had some bf on plane. Not so hungry. But i tell u, i miss malaysian food alot...much more tastier!
Well, this end my Vietnam trip. A no so enjoyable trip but some how can get away from work for time being, relax a bit... so, consider ok la! mai hiam is OK de la!
~END~
Love,
Jacky

JaMi & BB - Hanoi Trip 2009, Day 4

Day 4, 29/07/09, Very much like day2, had our bf at hotel, same food. Nothing special to share.

8 something, the tour guide reach our hotel to pick us up. The whole van is cater for us only. We leave Old quarter (old quarter is a place in hanoi, means old town), to Duong Lam village. It's abt 2hours drive too... i think it is not tat far just they dun have a highway.

Leaving the noisy Hanoi, lotsa motobike everywhere, they honk every second. This gimme a feeling, to survive here, u need to make sure ur honk is working, ur brake is working, u can forget about ur signal light. But there also cute stuff over here, their motor seat is LV pattern one leh...mai siao siao!

This is so called 5stars hotel, Horizon!

When we are on our way, we saw ppl selling BBQ pork at the road side...call "Thit Cho"...wait wait wait a moment...it dun look like a suckling pig to me, its a dog! They are selling dog meat! I felt so upset after see those stalls. There are plenty of stalls selling. Ma de, how can u eat man's best friend? How can u kill ur best friend? I really dunno wat to say la... just plain upset!

We reach Duong Lam Village. Tour guide is buying entrance ticket. He is better, he explain a lot of things to us, vietnam stuff, halong bay stuff, make us more clearer!

We started of with visiting Mong Phu Temple. But all of us had a quick visit inside, bcos we need to atttend nature call, wee-wee time. So, we ask the tour guide bring us to WC! He bring us goto a nursery school...borrow WC...hahahah

The kiddies there were cute. They were shocked in the beggining cos new faces! But then, after some body language, eye contact...they start to close to you. I took their picture and show it back to them, they seems very happy abt it...

Then, we go MIA Pagoda. It was built in 1632, tat was 300+years ago. So old already. The still preserve until now. The pagoda was built by Tran Dynasty.

Inside here there are lotsa of God patung patung. Even found 18 loh hon here!

Then we come to a community hall in Duong Lam Village. This is where ppl gathered last time. Built using wood... There is a ah pek jaga this place, i read the chinese word in the hall, sounds same. He kept showing me all the readings, ask me look there, look here... so kind of him!

Ah pek is posing for me...hahahaha...thanks la!

Then, another highllight is, 300 year old tree and 200 year old gate!

It's raining in the morning. Picture is cloudy. Anyway, dun care, I have PS ma...wat oso can do one. This is our personal van la... drive us everywhere in Duong Lam village.

Then, we come to a old old house which >200years old and still well maintain. They are doing soya sauce business. This is where we going to have lunch here. Local vietnamese food.

The boss and his in-progress soya sauce making. Fil is trying to make too...hahaha

This is the raw material - soya.
After visiting, tour guide bring us around to show us some ancient house, and beautiful scenery here.

The place is so relaxing, back to kampung kampung. Pure and natural kampung. So peaceful. I am so crazy taking photos on the houses, windows, doors...etc. Real madness.

Guess wat r those? it's actually a padi been process. It can use to start fire. Burning purpose!

Beautiful village~untouched!

Then, here come the oldest house. They even got certificate for that. More than 300 years! Japanese goverment got help them out, help them to preserve the house. Sponsoring them... So good, like tat baru can keep the culture ma!

We back to the soya sauce house to have our lunch. The owner of the house is cooking in the kitchen, i took the opportunity to pay a visit. But then i think is wrong move. Better not to see, i guess i will enjoy the food more...Hahahaha....u know wat i mean?

Tell u wat? i still can eat 2 bowl of rice...bcos the soya sauce is so so so nice...

We have 2 type of veges, kangkung fried and kangkung boiled, BBQ pork, roasted chicken, cooked pork, and clear vege soup. It's yummy yummy! Thinking to buy the soya sauce back but after seeing the process making, i scared... sumore i see the bottle...it was recycled... i even scared. Too bad... i am a packaging guy, i talk abt packaging, if packaging not nice then soli la!
After eat full full liao, we continue to visit temple, yeah temple again. U r rite, temple temple and temple...

Phung Hung temple...

Ngo Quyen temple...
These 2 local hero lead to fight against invation from China. They protected their country. So, ppl built temple to worship them for their Heroness!

Get up and get down the van very tiring, we got tired and nothing much to see liao. We ask the tour guide send us back.

We stopped to chk out fruits while on the way back. Much expensive...of cos la...we go with tourist van...sure kena slash one ma. But we did not buy la.

We saw a lot of board with "SUA" on it, so we ask the tour guide wat is it, he told us is cow's milk. Here famous one. Ask us whether wanna try or not. We tried...

This is goat milk yogurt... i tell u...BESSSSSSST! So smooth, am sure u can get it else where!

The cow's milk? BESSSSSSTEST! I dun like milk one but then after i sip...i ordered my own glass...hahahah...just imagine how good?!
After satisfying our stomach...we went back hotel straight. Tired but fun...

Dinner, we go back to the Day 1 dinner place located in Ha May Road #72. Serve good steamboat and local food.

Brought some beers and have a little chat and drinking session. Beer is cheap here. Heineken is abt RM3.00 per can. Their own brand Bia Hoi Hanoi only RM1.50 per can.

Lee Wen pretend to be drunk...

By the way, about our complaint on the halong bay trip, the agent suppose to meet us up but din turn up at last. Tell us tat got accident and cannot come. The hotel in charge person only dun dare to come oso, he only tell us he manage to give discount, USD50/pax...WTF?! still higher than USD45... after talking and talking, it seems we can't go nowhere, we settle at USD50/pax. Taking this as learning. And also we threathen him that we will complaint to your tourism board! He said OK! Ma de! since like tat...ok lorrrr.
After our complaint session, we settle the hotel & tour bill. This enable us to chk out faster tomolo morning cos our flight is in the morning. I notice a paper on the counter, which is from another tourist, complaining halong bay trip as well. Without the fella notice, i took a picture and read on it. It's almost the same complaint like us... u die liao la...we got accompany!
I will give u a full detail report plus prove...to you tourism board... u guys wait la... conned us larrr...
So fast our last nite in Vietnam... a 5d4n holiday come to an end.

JaMi & BB - Hanoi Trip 2009, Day 3

Day 3, 28/07/09, we suppose to get up b4 7.00am for bf. But they shut down the air-con at 5.30am... WTF?! With no wind blows... middle of the sea... we nearly suffocate to dead!

We tried our best to sleep...until 6 something. Ah dear was furious, she went out and check out wat happen. The crew is still sleeping on dining sofa where we suppose to have bf.

Not a while, the whole bloody cruise starts alive, many ppl start to wake up liao. Too noisy and i got no choice to wake up also. After freshen up, bf still not yet ready. So we go up to the dect to have some frsh air and taking some pictures lorrrr.

Look at our bf, soooooooooo~ pathetic! We have 3 options, i.e, 1) Bread, 2) Bread, 3) Bread... and pls look at the butter slice...so damn pathetic thin slice. It means one person get one slice of butter. Pls check out how many slices of bread we have, u think enuff? The eggs, everyone has one. From wat i can see, the egg is yellow in colour...means wat? means it's all mix up, then divided into 4pcs, it could only use 3 eggs...u know wat i mean?

The best thing is, when i purposely go behind to chk out the crew's bf, they got whole butter, sunny side up fried eggs... sunny side up leh...with egg yolk dancing leh... aren't we suppose to eat those? Nia sing...really pissed me off... #^$%^*

The rest of the day, we just spend our time sleeping, sit there chatting, sun bathing, cam whoring...only. We do nothing at all. Tour guide did not even explain to us those famous rocks...

We even being brought to a harbour just to drop another batch of ppl. Then they told us we have been to Cat Ba Island. The distance waste us 1hour.
We spend extra hour to a place where we did not get down to visit. After suffering from all these shits, we finally back to our harbour, and had lunch.

We dying to get off from the cruise. Look at how happy we were when we finally get off.

I must warn u, stay away from these sellers, no matter wat they offer u, just ignore. If u look or buy from them, they will bug u forever.
We walk across the harbour into a dining place. Tour guide told us to have lunch here. The place is so stuffy, hot...cannot even breathe...

It look so funny when guai lou uses a pair of chopsticks...

We have so called "seafood" lunch...again, wedges, vege, dunno-kind-of-soup, mud-taste fish, spring roll....etc... can really recall wat i have ate. I know it's plain awful!

6 for USD10, chip chip chip! Halo! Kiss me, 6 for 10, 6 for 10!

All these immitation kiplings were selling expensive...vian! u gotto do something!
After lunch, we wait for the transfer van to pick us up and send us back to Hanoi. I am deadly missing the queen size bed with air-con...
But, as usual, we had pit stop again at middle of the journey.

They sell painting?! which hand-sew become a picture. This is purely hand-made, it was beautiful and unique!

While waiting/resting here, some of the guai lou starts to play rugby... WTF? they bring along their rugby ball wherever they go?!

After 3 1/2 hour, we reach Hanoi, the noisy are back... doesn't matter, i want a nice shower and queen size bed! Check-in our hotel, i got the same room #. So, without further-a-do, we went up and freshen up. Then come down and starts complaining to the hotel person. He promise to ask the PIC come over to discuss. We told them we will not paying USD65 for this stupid trip.

After settled with our complaints, all of us were ready to hit the road again. We will go shop for souveniours and COFFEE!!! Our destination is Trung Tien Plaza, it's a super market.

Well, as a tourist we always walk... We see many things...observed many things. We see they use up walking path as open air badminton court. There are so many! Young, old ppl playing everywhere. I guess this is how they train their national hero whom beat our Malaysian owned Dato' Lee CW few months back. I dunno wat his name, dun ask me... but i can say their skill is so so only... in malaysia, u cincai pick up a pebble and throw at anyone u see, the fella oso can play 10times better badminton. Hahahah....u get wat i mean not?

I even spotted an uncle answering nature's call on siang siang hari at the road side! Wah tiu~~~

A lot of these makan place...which i dun dare to try out...cos i am bringing bunch of elderly with me.
After 20min of walking+asking for direction, we manage to found tat plaza. To me, it's like "the store" kind of supermarket. Anyway, dun care la, let's go hunt for food 1st la, all of us is hungry and had a bad bad meals from yesterday till today. We found foodcourt located on 4th floor. Withour further delay, we went up and had our dinner.

Guess wat? the pho bo here actually taste good. Price wise is comparable with KL price la...

But we had the best coffee so far... RM5.oo 1/3 cup... trust me...it was so "ummmph"!
We had some little shopping at 3rd floor after dinner. We shop for coffee filter and coffee powder like mad. We bought lotsa coffee back. So satisfying!
Then, we went home ZZZzzZzzZ... prepare for tomolo's trip to Duong Lam Village, an ancient village!
